Marriage in Christ: The Sacrament of Faithful, Lifelong Love (Young Adult Version)

    In 2002, the Diocese of St. Cloud, Minnesota, hired me to write a five-part series (study guide) to teach young adults and high school juniors/seniors about the sacrament of marriage. The diocesan committee I worked with believes—as do I—that young people need to learn more about this sacrament before they leave home for college, cohabit, or become engaged. The title is the same as that of Bishop John F. Kinney’s pastoral letter on marriage (read the letter) because our task was to teach the young people some of the same concepts included in the bishop’s letter.

The Nuptial Mystery: Exploring the Theological Significance of Marriage in Schillebeeckx’s Marriage: Human Reality and Saving Mystery and Evdokimov’s The Sacrament of Love

    This is the title of my unpublished master’s thesis exploring the sacrament of marriage from a systematic perspective using the marriage theologies of Catholic Father Edward Schillebeeckx and Orthodox theologian Paul Evdokimov.
